According to market sources, Ozone Laboratories is for sales, but company officials did not confirm the information.
Last year, the company launched new products on both the over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription segments. It developed partnerships for both production and distribution and entered the mass market segment - hypermarkets, supermarkets, gas stations.
Some 40 percent of the company's business is generated by Romania. Ozone's second-largest market is Poland. At a group level, Ozone Laboratories posted consolidated business worth €77 million, up 44 percent year-on-year.
The company is registered in The Netherlands and has as shareholders Movisano and Ozone Medicals companies, controlled by businesspeople Walid Abboud, Ludovic Robert, Michel Eid, and Roger Akoury, who also founded Romania's largest medical products distributor and retailer, A&D Pharma.
Ozone does not own production capacities, but works with other producers under manufacturing contracts. It currently works with five producers locally and with pharmaceutical companies in Western Europe, Poland, and India. 60 percent of its products are made in Romania.
