“It is normal that fees are low, given street parking is allowed in Bucharest and there are no viable projects for paid parking structures,” according to Dan Adamescu, owner of Unirea Shopping Center, which has a lot with 1,000 parking spaces.
According to the Colliers International study, Bucharest is among the top ten cheapest cities in terms of parking costs, outranked only by Albania’s capital Tirana, and South Africa cities. In Tirana, daily parking fees amount to $6.92 (€4.74), while monthly fees are equal to those in Romania.
In Sofia and Budapest, daily fees per parking space amount to $13.85 (€9.49). Daily Warsaw parking fees are lower - $9.23 (€6.32). The highest daily and monthly fees are registered in London - $68.07 or €46.67, Amsterdam - $66.16 or €45.3 and in Moscow, Vienna and the Hague - $61.54 or €42.19.
