PCfun estimates a doubling of turnover in S1

“We registered an increase in the first half of the year, almost twice that in 2007. It seems that increasingly more consumers are choosing to buy online as a simple and economic alternative to the lack of time. Beyond any estimates and economic criteria, internet shopping will develop in the coming years, mainly because consumers will adopt this as a way of life,” says Madalin Durca, Marketing Manager of PCfun.

According to Durca, there is a market trend to equipment that offers mobility and saves space, such as notebooks and LCD monitors. PCfun estimates a market share of 5 percent in 2008. Notebooks, PCs, computer components, monitors, LCD monitors, and photo cameras were the online store’s best sold products.

Competitor eMAG, online market leader in terms of sales, estimates turnover worth €140-150 mln in 2008, double year-on-year. The company had a market share of 70 percent last year.
