“The soft drink market will have a moderate growth rate this year, below 10 percent, due to the economic climate dominated by the crisis. Competitors will remain the same. I do not think that any major players on the soft drink market will be forced to withdraw. I am optimistic about 2009, I estimate a growth rate of over 10 percent for the company’s net sales,” said Mike Holmes, Chairman of Pepsi Americas Romania.
Holmes added that the total soft drink market, including mineral water, rose 10-11 percent last year in all categories the company is present in. Moreover, the market registered “explosive” growth rates in the past three years.
