“If we had not been pleased with the results registered in Romania, then we would not have decided to invest $150 million in this new production unit. Our expectations target a continuous portfolio expansion, on a local market with growth potential, which will bring Pepsi as many loyal consumers as possible, and a constant improvement of our position in Romania,” President of Pepsi Americas Romania, Mike Holmes, told Business Standard.
The official is optimistic about the results in the second half of 2009, relying on the fact that Pepsi’s growth pace was above that of the market (Ed. n. – below 10 percent) in the first six months of this year, as each brand performed better than expected.
“The segments that increased most in H1 are mineral water, ice tea, and non-carbonated juices. I am pleased with the evolution of the Itsy Bitsy brand (Ed. n. - juices for children), after just three months from launch,” Holmes added.
