“Personnel turnover declined 59 percentage points in the first six months of 2009 compared to last year’s same period. At present we are recruiting mainly commercial workers, depending on the dynamic needs of every department,” Lorincz said.
So far, Ikea Romania’s employees did not benefit from a salary increase, and possible changes in compensation packages will be made as of September, after the end of the financial year. “Salary changes are based exclusively on the individual and company performance, which can be evaluated only after the year ends,” the HR Manager added.
Benefit packages and the structure of performance bonuses have not been changed because of the economic crisis. “The main theme of 2009 within the company is, without a doubt, productivity, efficiency in all aspects of our activity. Crises come and go, the most important thing is the capacity to maintain the initially set strategy,” the company official said.
