He is now collaborating with the Geo Celtic team, which is searching over 3,000 square kilometers of the Neptun block of the Black Sea for oil and gas. The operations are being carried out by Petrom in partnership with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Romania Ltd., a subsidiary of the world’s largest oil company, Exxon Mobil SUA.
Petrom and Exxon signed a partnership last year, but have only now begun their deep sea exploration for oil.
Petrom’s production of oil and gas last year amounted to 71 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE). The company is controlled by the Austrian OMV oil and gas group.
