Petrom stock rose 6 percent on BVB

Following a shareholders’ meeting on Tuesday evening, the company announced its net income was likely to amount to €682.2 million, some 36 percent higher year-on-year. Company officials estimate turnover worth €3.3 billion for 2008.

Furthermore, Petrom shares were the most traded on Thursday, with deals worth €2.48 million. The liquidity on BVB, including the electronic Rasdaq market, amounted to €5.03 mln.

BVB closed the trading session with a slight increase of 1 percent. The BET index, following the top 10 listed companies, rose 0.9 percent.

The BET-FI index, monitoring the evolution of the five financial investment companies (SIF), closed on zero, due to suspension of deals with four SIFs stocks.
