The situation is more common in cities outside Bucharest, to which most lenders are expanding. “The senior segment is limited because market growth far exceeds the labor force professionalization capacity,” Gabriela Constantinescu added. Furthermore, managers on the market already have good jobs, so negotiations must include new elements to justify a change of job.
Credit analysts and sales officers are also hard to find.
In 2008, Piraeus Bank opened 18 branches in several cities across Romania. Last year, the lender expanded to county capitals and is targeting medium-sized cities this year. By the end of the year, it plans to have 180 branches, which means employing some 600 people.
