Plus Discount opens 48th store countrywide in Campulung Moldovenesc, on expansion plan

The store has a total surface of 1,380 square meters. Some 1,080 square meters make up the sales surface. The store will offer a wide range of merchandise, displaying more than 1,500 products.
The store in Campulung Moldovenesc is the first one in Suceava County. Plans are to open another one in spring next year, general manager for Romania Uwe Klostermann said.
Plus Discount is owned by the Tengelmann group and operates in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Romania. The local competitors are miniMax Discount, Kaufland, XXL Megadiscount and Penny Market. Romanian stores are supplied daily from the Plus warehouse in Ploiesti.
The company’s countrywide expansion strategy calls for opening outlets in all cities with more than 20,000 inhabitants. The company plans to have 70 stores by the end of April 2008.
