Pro TV’s revenues and profit register a downward trend

Adrian Sarbu, President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Central European Media Enterprises (CME), owner of Pro TV, said that 2008 was a remarkable year, in spite of a difficult last quarter.

“We have taken aggressive measures to cut operating costs and capital investments and will take the necessary steps to maximize revenues and liquidity. We expect to overcome the current economic crisis with our leading position intact and resume our upward trend,” Sarbu added.

CME’s President said he was especially pleased with the performance of operations in the Czech Republic and Romania, which registered the best results so far. “In Croatia we have enjoyed the highest growth in audience and revenues to date. In an environment in which companies worldwide are struggling, we remain leader on markets on which we are present,” Sarbu said. Financial results registered by Pro TV in 2008 place Romania second, after the Czech Republic.
