The company registered turnover for 2006 of some €547 million, with net profits of its four Romanian subsidiaries exceeding €37 million.
Highest revenues for 2006 were generated by the distribution division, with some €280 million in turnover and net profits of more than €12.5 million, followed by Procter & Gamble Marketing Romania, with €200 million turnover and some €22 million net profits. The remaining two divisions, P&G Materials Management and Detergenti S.A in Timisoara generated some €70 million for total company business.
P&G has been present on the Romanian detergent and personal care market since 1994, but extended activities two years later. The company's competitive portfolio diversified in 2006 following its merger with Gillette.
P&G sells more than 40 brands in Romania, some of them (Ariel, Tide, and Ace) produced in its Timisoara factory, where the company has invested some €26 million. "The company intends to further invest in the Timisoara factory and distribution center," said Ramona Brad, International Relations Manager with Procter & Gamble Marketing Romania. Of the factory's products, some 50 percent go to Central and Eastern Europe.
