Adriana Papureanu, ProTVţs representative at the CNA meeting, told Business Standard that ProTv has a contract with MTV London to broadcast in Romania. She also said that she does not believe that this takeover applies to other countries.
Maria Apostol, Communications Director of MediaPro, told Business Standard that the channel will retain its current image. “We will air new productions, and new people,” Apostol added. The changes will be effective in spring 2008.
For now, MTV’s headquarters will remain in the Floreasca area, but will be moved at some point to the Pache Protopopescu building, headquarters for all MediaPro channels.
Adrian Anghel, head of Music Television System, was unavailable to provide details.
MTV surrendered its license for VH1 Romania several weeks ago, which it obtained with great difficulty after numerous applications.
