Prunea is one of the most experienced brokers on the local market, involved in the development of the Stock Exchange since it was reopened. Prunea’s position as Chairman was filled by Anton Ionescu, but he remained the General Manager of the brokerage firm. Ionescu could not be contacted yesterday for comment.

Replacing Prunea could block the company’s activity, considering that Broker Cluj has a unitary management system, and major decisions must be signed by the person who is both Chairman and General Manager.

The company official said that his removal from the Chairman position was based on tensions accumulated due to “catastrophic” decisions that the company made in the past years, which reduced its attractiveness and led to a sharp drop in share price.
