R.H.S. Company: Investments in IT were lower this year

According to company representatives, the initial growth target was 50 percent, but harsh lending conditions and the international financial crisis have influenced results. During a crisis, everyone invests less, and investments in IT were lower this year. There was definitely a significant drop, due to what happened internationally,” said General Manager Dragos Popescu.

PC components were the best-sold products in H1 (over 50 percent of sales), while laptops generated 25 percent of sales. Monitors had a 12 percent share in sales, and navigation systems had 10 percent.

Asus generates the most sales for R.H.S. Company (34 percent of turnover). “We estimate we will meet the €101.7 million target by the end of the year, since September is the beginning of the most important time of the year, with the highest impact on sales,” said Popescu.

R.H.S. Company is due to acquire the ProCA Romania company, which is the IT&C distribution division of RTC group. “I cannot give a specific date for the finalizing of the acquisition. I can say there will be changes in the company’s management, and that ProCA Romania will carry on its activities,” said Sorin Stancy, General Manager of ProCA Romania.
