Radacini Motors estimates sales of 100 Cadillacs in 2008
Radacini Motors, importer of Corvette, Cadillac and Hummer brands in Romania, estimates sales of some 100 Cadillacs, 60 Hummers and 20 Corvettes, said Executive Manager Catalin Bratu. Prices range from €28,000 (the cheapest Cadillac) to €88,000 (for a Corvette).

Within one month, the company will finalize a service station in Otopeni for Cadillac and Corvette, while a 500 square meter showroom for the three brands will be ready by the end of the year, and cost over €2 mln.

Radacini Motors began distributing the three brands in October 2007, after the International Auto Show in Bucharest (SIAB). Communication and marketing are coordinated by General Motors South East Europe, importer of Opel and Chevrolet.

Company representatives say that Hummer has great potential for growth in Romania, while Cadillac is perceived as a large American car with high consumption. “Cadillac is a masculine brand, for a segment of clients aged 35-50,” Bratu said.

He added that 15 Hummer cars were sold since January 2008 and the company plans to sell at total of 60 by the end of the year. The car targets young people and businessmen who want to maintain a certain image.

As concerns the Corvette, Bratu said that this car targets men under 30 years of age, who appreciate the sports features. According to Bratu, Porsche is Corvette’s main competitor on the Romanian market.

Some 50 percent of Corvette buyers and 60 percent of Cadillac buyers are from Bucharest, while more than 60 percent of Hummer buyers are from outside Bucharest.
