"At present there is no demand for leasing ships and planes without personnel on the Romanian market. We intend to meet the demand of all leasing segments in which we are involved, but will also rely on the fact that the regional markets in which we are operating, have such a demand, and this is very motivating," Laura Ionescu, Raiffeisen Leasing - Sales Division Marketing & PR Manager, told Business Standard.
Raiffeisen Leasing signed financing contracts worth over €165 million in 2006, up by one quarter year-on-year. The auto segment makes up for almost 80 percent of the company's portfolio, while equipment represents 20 percent. "The equipment segment developed significantly, increasing by some 50 percent from 2006," said company officials.
The lender offers financing for cars, commercial vehicles, industrial and agricultural equipment, construction machinery, medical equipment, and complex projects such as production lines, fleets, commercial and real estate projects. The leasing division of Raiffeisen group has a share capital of RON 14.93 million (€4.77 million) and its majority shareholder is Raiffeisen Leasing International, with a 99.9 percent share package.
