Rehabilitation works for the hotel started two years ago. The operational opening is slated for March 2 while the official one for the end of August. The hotel stretches over 14,000 square meters and has 300 rooms.

“This is the first Ramada Plaza hotel in Romania,” Ramada Plaza sales and marketing manager Elena Mesina said.

Starting this summer, the hotel will own a health center consisting of eight tennis courts, a covered pool, fitness, sauna and massage facilities. A conference center will be added in two years from now.

The Ramada brand is represented in Romania through the Trend Hospitality which operates as a strategic partner in Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova. It franchise exclusivity in Romania for the following brands: Ramada Worldwide, Wyndham Hotel Group, Super 8 Motel and Days Inn.

Ramada Worldwide is part of the Wyndham Hotel Group, the biggest international hotel chain operating on six continents with a total of 6,400 hotels. Ramada Worldwide owns 900 hotels in more than 25 countries.

The Ramada brand was created in 1954 and was purchased by Cendant Corporation in 2004 so entering the Wyndham Hotel Group portfolio.
