Albalact President Raul Ciurtin said the new company will be called Prefera Foods. He estimates that products will be well known on the market by 2009.
Other producers, such as Tabco Campofrio, Hame, and Olympus have also announced investments. Campofrio will invest €20 mln in a cold meats factory, while Hame plans to acquire a factory for canned meats or canned fruits and vegetables. Olympus intends to open a dairy factory.
