“RCS&RDS has a great deal of clients in Bihor, where it is a quasi-monopoly. Fixed internet is very good there, and I expect it to be a strong competitor on the mobile data segment as well. The price was set so low in order to attract clients. Moreover, this is a preventive move, prior to Cosmote entering 3G,” Dinu Malacopol, General Manager of the DCS telecom operator, told Business Standard.
Mobile data is available in some towns in Bihor County, and the package will enter Bucharest shortly, according to employees in the company’s call-center. “Expanding these services outside Bihor will require a discussion on 3G coverage. The initial offer is good, stable. The main challenge is the effort to keep up with new clients and upgrade the sites in real time,” Malacopol said.
