“The adhesives market will only grow by 10-15 percent, although players estimated a 20-25 percent increase earlier this year. Although the market rose 35 percent in the first six months, the growth was not similar on all segment and the low ratio of apartment sales impacted directly on adhesives production,” Henkel Romania’s Marketing Manager, Lavinia Ciurtin, said.
The division’s turnover increased by 27 percent year-on-year in H1, due to projects launched in the previous years and finalized in the first six months of 2008.
The adhesives unit is likely to post more than €85 million in turnover this year, compared to €67.6 million in 2007.
Henkel Romania has two adhesives production units, with annual production totaling 450,000 tons. The company plans to build a third factory in 2009.
