Real opens new hypermarket in Timisoara

The new store has a total built area of 14,000 sqm with a little over half of this allocated to sales. There are also 1,000 parking spaces. Some 40,000 food and non-food products are available in the Real store.

The hypermarket chain is currently expanding nationwide, with three further stores expected to open by the end of the year in Bucharest's southern Berceni neighborhood and the northern cities of Cluj-Napoca and Deva. Real Hypermarket also plans to open six more units in 2008, up to a total 21 stores countrywide.

On the Romanian market, Real's main competitors are international hypermarket chains Carrefour, Cora, Auchan and Kaufland, and local network Pic.
