Unlike HBO, which is a premium pay-tv movie channel, distributed on its own and at a separate fee, the three Realitatea channels will make up a regular pay-tv package that can be introduced into any cable tv package, added Chiritoiu. Negotiations are in the process with the direct-to-home (DTH) platforms and cable providers, including the two top ones, RCS and UPC, for distribution. The Project Manager added that the subscription for all three channels will be less than that for HBO. Initially, programming will be for 18 hours a day, and will switch to 24 hours within three months.
There will be advertising on all three channels, but this will be between programming, not during the films.
