Recession fears hit European shares and cause Bucharest Stock Exchange indexes to stumble

Opening session deals amounted to 4.75 million lei (1.27 million euros), down 40 percent against the previous session.
The BET index measuring the market’s ten top performers dropped 2.05 percent to 7,291.17 and the BET-C index tracking all listed shares minus investment funds slipped 1.94 percent to 5,101.25.
The ROTX index for trading blue chips in Vienna lost 2.08 percent to 16,096.81. The BET-FI index which measures the five financial companies SIFs dropped 3.01 percent to 58,724.80.
The shares of BRD SocGen, Romania’s second largest lender by assets, lost 2.49 percent, to 19.60 lei per share. Banca Transilvania (TLV), Romania’s fifth lender by assets, saw its shares plunge 1.99 percent, to 0.74 lei.
SIF Oltenia (SIF5) shares dived 2.68 percent, to 3.27 lei. The shares of SIF Moldova (SIF2) lost 2.90 percent, to 2.68 lei.
The shares of Romania’s electricity provider Transelectrica (TEL) dipped 2.46 percent, to 27.70 lei.
