“So far, we have not been given any signal that changes will interfere with the RTR project,” Anca Oreviceanu, RTR’s Communication Manager, told Business Standard. She added that the working schedule of the more than 2,000 specialists in the company’s centers in the cities of Bucharest and Pitesti was extended by one hour, so the employees can take the 23 December-3 January period off.
Constantin Stroe, Vice President of Automobile Dacia, Romania’s largest car maker, indicated that companies operating on the auto market segment will continue to invest in Romania, because they have to cut costs even further, and work force costs in Romania are significantly lower than in Western countries.
The Titu-based RTR center (north of Bucharest, in Dambovita County) is to be finalized by the end of 2009 and will have some 3,000 employees. The complex requires €100 million worth of investments in a first stage and will be the company’s third design center, in addition to those located in France.
