Romania 3rd in the EU in terms of labor force cost increase

Romania ranked second at the end of 2007, behind Latvia and ahead of Lithuania. The most rapid advance was registered on the construction and service segments (19.8 percent), while the hourly cost of the labor in industry rose 19 percent.

National Institute of Statistics (INS) data shows that the cost of the labor force rose 20 percent in Q1 2008, and it estimates a 10-15 percent increase in 2008.
