Romania ranks second for smokers in Europe

However, Romania ranks first in terms of people's intention to quit smoking. 

Applying a ban on smoking in public places could lead to a decline in the number of smokers, by as much as 368,577 in a single year, according to Johnson&Johnson. Less smokers would mean "a significant decline in diseases and deaths caused by smoking," according to the company's over-the-counter (OTC) products division Manager, Mihai Ciobanu.

Johnson&Johnson is the producer of Nicorette anti-smoking products.
