Romania's BCR to open 50 self banking units by the end of the year

The facilities, named Easy 24 Banking BCR, allow clients access to ATMs and permit them to make current account deposits using the debit card, to exchange currency at special teller machines, to use the Service Boxes for payment orders in lei and to access account information using special phone lines.

The Easy 24 Banking facilities are part of the 24 Banking package, which also offers phone services (Alo 24 Banking) and internet services (Click 24 Banking BCR).
The lender targets 75,000 active users of 24 Banking by the end of 2008 and a 15 percent drop in cash transactions.

Transactions volume for 24 Banking hiked six times in the first month, from 2.5 million lei to 15 million lei.
