Still, this figure would be an improvement on this year's forecast of 3.2 percent of GDP, which is above the 3 percent limit allowed for EU members.
The minister noted that the budget deficit next year is expected to stand at 11.8 billion lei and spending will increase to 183.2 billion lei from this year’s 155.3 billion lei.
However, revenues will increase to 171.3 billion lei from 144 billion lei this year, Vosganian said, adding that Romania’s GDP will stand at 438.6 billion lei and inflation will amount to 3.5 percent.
Budget funds for education will amount to 26.5 billion lei, up 5 billion lei against this year’s figure. Research will receive some 2.9 billion lei, or 0.6 percent of GDP.
