Although representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI) insist that the first stage of the electronic governing system, e-Romania, has been implemented, and that a series of auctions have already been launched, IT players complain about the unprofessional manner in which public contracts are delivered.
Liviu Dragan, President of the Association of Software and Service Industry, says that to date no projects really exist, but rather only delivery of hardware and software.
“As concerns the duration, initially we said that e-Romania would be completed by 2012, but practically speaking, we reached the conclusion that it will never be finished, because new services keep appearing, which must be implemented. As concerns financing, we cannot say this exists, because we do not know what the budget structure is for the coming years,” said Andrei Savulescu, General Manager of MCSI.
On the local market, according to players, several public projects are expected in the medical field.
