Liquidity hiked to 24.41 million lei, from 15.19 million lei in the previous session.

The BET index reflecting the evolution of the ten best companies on the market dropped 1.36 percent to 5,028.40 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares minus financial companies reduced 1.16 percent to 2,940.92.

The BET-FI index of the five SIFs crashed 3.58 percent to 26,704.14 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna plummeted 1.88 percent to 10,344.97.

The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies lowered 1.94 percent to 501.53 and the BET-NG index showing the evolution of the power market slipped 0.96 percent to 651.85.

Shares of SIF Oltenia (SIF5) were the most liquid on the market and sank 3.31 percent to 1.46 lei and those of SIF Moldova (SIF2) declined 3.82 percent to 1.26 lei.

On the banking sector, BRD SocGen (BRD) idled at 14.20 lei and Banca Transilvania (TLV) dipped 2.3 percent to 2.12 lei.

Romania's top oil company Petrom (SNP) tumbled 3.23 percent to 0.27 lei and gas operator Transgaz Medias (TGN) lost 1.07 percent to 185 lei.
