Romania's leu declines to a reference exchange rate of 4.2385 lei/euro

BNR's exchange rate stood at 4.2356 lei per euro on Tuesday.

The leu fell from 4.2294 to 4.2430 versus the euro and then soared to 4.2364 around 1 p.m.

For the U.S. dollar, BNR's exchange rate reduced 0.11 percent to 3.2839 lei per dollar, from 3.2876 in the previous session.

On the international market, the dollar depreciated from 1.2830 to 1.2895 per euro and then stabilized at 1.2890 dollars per euro.

Overnight interests on the monetary market maintain between 1.95 and 2.45 percent a year, way below the key interest rate of 6.25 percent a year.
