Romania's leu suffers slight correction to 3.64 against the single European currency today

The leu dropped almost constantly during the day, from 3.6180 to 3.6465 against the euro. At 5:45 p.m. banks bought the euro with 3.6370 lei and sold it for 3.6440 lei.

“I believe the decrease seen today is more a correction, especially because there are no significant moves on the market. The market was moved more by clients' commercial orders,” head of the interbank transactions of Volksbank, Monica Angelescu told NewsIn.

The 3.6361 lei per euro reference exchange rate posted by the central bank today is 0.03 percent above the level posted yesterday. The leu grew to 2.3261 against the U.S. dollar from 2.3287 yesterday.

On international markets the U.S. dollar decreased almost constantly from 1.5505 to 1.5678 against the euro. At 5:45 p.m. Bucharest hour, the euro stood at 1.5635 U.S. dollars.
