Romania’s Minister of Justice Tudor Chiuariu resigns

Chiuariu said that he informed Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu on Saturday of his decision to resign, and that the latter will accept his request.  “This is a gesture of responsibility.  I do not want personal and political disagreements to affect the activity and credibility of state institutions,” said Chiuariu, quoted by NewsIn.  He went on to state that he had accepted the position of Minister of Justice at the request of Prime Minister Tariceanu “because he wished to change Romania and Romania’s Justice for the better.”
