Romania’s nuclear plant operator Nuclearelectrica plans EUR 131m investments for 2008

The official said some of the scheduled investments will focus on maintaining a high nuclear security level and protecting of the environment. This year is very important for the company, as this will be listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, he said.

Another project refers to the completion of the negotiations concerning the construction of Romania’s third and fourth nuclear reactors, to add to the  other two functional  units. Nuclearelectrica is 90.28 owned by the state.

The rest of the shares belong to Proprietatea Fund, created to pay damages to those whose properties were illegally seized by the communist regime.
