Tariceanu emphasized President Traian Basescu maintained the political crisis Romania witnessed in the past three years. The official said Romania should put in more effort to attract investors, noting large sums were lost due to the constant political bickering.

The prime minister yesterday said the country’s economy is not affected by structural problems and kept its attractiveness towards foreign investors, adding the world economy is almost entirely affected by the credit crisis in the United States and Romania is no exception.

Tariceanu came to the conclusion foreign businesspersons are not worried over Romania’s present economic situation, after debating with several of them.

The Romanian prime minister made these statements during a visit to Prague. His Czech counterpart, Mirek Copolanek, said Czech companies are more and more interested in investing in Romania.

The official noted investors are the ones who can appreciate for the best the risk assumed when approaching a certain market.
