This transaction raises the value of BitDefender to over $100 mln and is the first infusion of foreign capital for the It security solutions producer. The funds will be used for international development of the company, according to its representatives.
“The size of the investment qualifies BitDefender as the most valuable Romanian software company,” added company representatives.
BitDefender expects sales worth €70.8 mln this year compared to €47.7 mln year-on-year. The company is leader on the local antivirus market with a 40 percent share, even though over 95 percent of its turnover comes from foreign markets.
