The manager explained the production capacity of the plant in Mioveni was increased and some 320,000 cars will be produced here in 2008. Some 55 percent of the production will be exported this year and by the end of 2009 it will amount to 70 percent.

Dacia will produce some 220,000 units this year, at Mioveni, plus two new models. One is the Logan Pick-up model while the other is similar to the Sandero model.

Dacia saw worldwide sales climb 12 percent in the first nine months of the year against the same period last year, yet Renault sales slipped.

Dacia sold 165,501 cars from January to September this year, up 12 percent against the 148,000 cars sold in the same period of 2006. The carmaker sold 74,818 units in Romania, since the beginning of the year while Renault sold only 23,992 units.
