The three main players, HP, Canon and Epson grabbed more than 82 percent of sales altogether. The sale volume grew 40 percent to 230,000 units. The hardcopy market hit a peak in 2007 and is estimated to continue hiking constantly at a lower pace over the following years, according to IDC.
MFPs sales boosted 68.2 percent year-on-year in Q4 while printers and monofunctional products climbed only 5.5 percent. Copiers increased 50 percent but stood at merely 0.5 percent of the total market.
Ink jet printers continued dominating the market with 71.2 percent of sales. The mono laser hardcopy devices were 25 percent of the market while the color laser ones were only 2.5 percent.
