The average number of hours of training per employee was 14 in Romania, compared to 20 at the European level, according to a study carried out by the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) consultancy company.
“The lower value of the investment in employee development in Romania can be explained by the large ratio of internal training, higher than in the other countries in the region, and the price difference between local training providers and those in the Central and Eastern Europe region,” said the Head of the Human Resource Consultancy Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers Romania, Horatiu Cocheci.
On the local market, companies with few employees and a high degree of specialization were the ones which invested the most in training.
