Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Deloitte&Touche and Ernst&Young are presently led by Romanians. Kevehazi, KPMG Senior Partner, will be replaced by serban Toader in December. Toader, 36, is currently Partner in the Financial Services department. He has been working for KPMG since 1996.
“This is a major responsibility, but I rely on the commitment and experience of my colleagues,” Toader said.
He added that several Senior Managers will be promoted to Partners this year, “so I am going to work with a competitive team.” Kevehazi, 51, is leaving KPMG Romania after seven years in Bucharest. “I think it’s time for a change and I believe I am leaving KPMG Romania at a time when the company is in excellent shape,” he said.
Leaders of other Big Four companies say the move to name a Romanian chairman is not unusual.
