Romanian retailer Trident doubles nine-month revenues, plans more investments

Trident saw 46 million euros nine-month revenues.

The company will initiate the corner shop network called Trident Express due to the success registered by Trident supermarket in Sibiu, central Romania, company's most profitable unit despite store's small surface, the representatives said.

Trident will invest around 12 and 20 million euros to open two hypermarkets and two supermarkets next year. One of the hypermarkets will be located in Sibiu and will unfold over 12,000 square meters.

Trident Trans Tex was set up in April 2004 and is the biggest Romanian retail operator. The company operates four stores in Medias, central Romania, one store in Deva, western Romania, one in Sfantu Gheorghe, central Romania, and one in Sibiu.

Company's officials estimate some 66 million euros revenues for 2007. Trident Trans Tex saw 46.4 million lei revenues in 2005 and 440,000 lei net profit.
