Romanian stocks slip at opening; European ones see first rise this week
Stocks fell after rating agency Standard & Poor’s downgraded Romania’s rating perspective from “stable” to “negative”. The BET-C composite index measuring all listed shares minus investment funds fell 1.05 percent, the BET index tracking the market’s top ten performers lost 0.62 percent. The BET-FI index assessing the five investment funds known as SIFs dropped 0.76 percent.

SIF Moldova dipped 0.57 percent to 3.47 lei, SIF Oltenia fell 1.42 percent to 4.18 lei. Oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare Constanta idled at 0.11 lei. Alumil saw steep fall of 5.80 percent to 6.50 lei. Romania’s fifth lender Banca Transilvania lost 0.57 percent to 0.87 lei. Second bank by assets, BRD SocGen slipped 1.15 percent to 25.70 lei. Realtor Impact climb 1.92 percent to 1.06 lei, after company board decided yesterday to add some 200 million lei to the company’s share capital.
