Villeroy&Boch is one of Europe’s major ceramic tile and sanitation equipment producer. “Mondial also makes up 6.3 percent of the total sales of the Bath&Wellness division. Under the Mondial brand, we develop sanitation products well known in Romania, but we expanded our portfolio with two new divisions: wellness and taps&mixers,” company officials told Business Standard.
Mondial was taken over by Villeroy&Boch in 1996. It has a factory in the western city of Lugoj.
V&B representatives say Romanian clients are increasingly carful as far as product quality is concerned. ‘The market of cheap, low quality products keeps on declining, if it still exists. The brand makes the difference for consumers,” company officials said.
In H1, the group posted €434.8 million in sales, 3.8 percent higher year-on-year. V&B’s profit increased by 2.3 percent, up to €9.3 million. Among its local competitors are companies Cersanit and Delta Distribution.
