Romanians and Bulgarians are lagging behind in Europe at using the Internet

Some four Romanians out of 100 make their own website, 5 percent make on-line phone calls, some 6 percent find, download and install computer programs and 12 percent of them chat on the Internet, according to the Eurostat study. The study shows 21 percent of Romanians send e-mails with attached files and 23 percent use search engines.

About 10 percent of the people in the 27 countries members of the European Union create their own website, 25 percent of them take up on-line phone calls, 52 percent download and install computer programs, 33 percent use chats on the Internet, 72 percent send e-mails with attached files and 80 percent use searching engines.

The study made by Eurostat included homes with at least one member, with ages from 16 to 74 and it was carried out in the first quarter of the year.
