Romanians spend €15 mln on luxury vacations

Some 5,000 people buy vacation packages worth €2,000-3,000 for locations such as Seychelles, Maldives or Bali, luxury cruises, or shopping trips in the world’s most luxurious locations.

Some one million Romanians go on vacation abroad and the total tourism market is estimated at €1.5 million.

“For luxury vacations, we have demand for packages worth anywhere from €6,000-7,000 to €30,000. These can be even more expensive if a larger family,” goes on vacation, according to travel agency Aerotravel’s Marketing Manager, Claudia Stan. She added that the demand for cruises increased in 2007, especially among younger clients.
