The company posted losses worth RON 430,000 (€129,000) last year, while turnover doubled to RON 90.58 mln (€27.1 mln). “The client portfolio is diversified, including some 450 clients. We can say that Romcarbon is not dependent on certain clients. There are only two clients who each make up for 5 percent of the company’s turnover,” said Ileana Banucu, Deputy General Manager.
Romcarbon products are sold largely on the local market, which produced 97 percent of turnover in 2006. Shareholders have approved investments worth RON 53.7 million (€14.8 mln) this year.
Romcarbon has invested in the green industry, in companies like Greentech (plastic bottle recycling), Greenfiber International (producer of synthetic polyester fibers) and GreenWEEE International (electronic and home appliance recycling), and plans to develop waste recycling within the company.
The National Securities Commission approved the transfer of Romcarbon Buzau (ROCE) shares from the electronic RASDAQ market to Bucharest Stock Exchange’s (BVB) second category. Romcarbon’s shareholders decided in November 2007 to transfer the company’s shares to the BVB regulated market.
