“The industrial division advanced 14 percent compared to the first six months last year, to €68 million, and as concerns profit, we are estimating this to amount to some €3 million,” said Toma. The activities in agriculture generated income worth some €23 mln.
Romet is one of the leading companies in the water equipment industry and estimates 15 percent higher turnover in 2008. Investments amount to about €11 mln. Romet will open a pipe factory this year, in collaboration with a Turkish partner.
Toma recently announced that he and Shari Arison, Israel’s most powerful business woman, will invest a minimum of €1 billion to rehabilitate Romania’s water networks.
