“The advance of first half financial results was influenced mainly by market opening, due to the EU accession, by international standards requirement for companies and the higher interest of managers in following economic and financial indicators,” RomSoft’s General Manager, Claudia Ursateanu, told Business Standard.

European funds granted to Romania led to several significant projects in the public sector, which generated both turnover and profit, she said.

By the end of 2008, the company foresees business exceeding €15 million and 30 percent profit margin. “In the second half of this year, the IT business will have an outstanding dynamism, generated mainly by funds allocated by the European Union, the need for modernization both in the public and private sectors and technologic evolution in the infrastructure area,” Ursateanu said.

The main players on the software and integrated services are Siveco, TotalSoft and Wizrom.
