Romstal Leasing enjoys 49% growth

In 2007 Romstal Leasing S.A. financed 5,850 contracts worth over €211 million, 49 percent more year-on-year.

This growth allowed Romstal to surpass the Romanian leasing market growth rhythm, estimated at 32 percent, and its own predictions of 25 percent, compared to 2006.

By the end of 2007 cars made up 40 percent of the company's portfolio, commercial vehicles 44 percent, and motorcycles 1 percent. The equipment segment doubled its value year-on-year. There were 60 percent more contracts for commercial vehicles in 2007 than the previous year.

In real estate, Romstal Leasing financed 69 contracts worth €16 million, 70 percent more year-on-year. The main assests were residential buildings and land. For 2008 the company is hoping to double the value of real estate assets by up to €30 mln.

In 2008, Romstal Leasing plans to raise by 30 percent last year's results and conclude over 7,500 contracts worth €275 mln. The company is counting on the real estate and equipment segments gaining some 20 percent in importance in its portfolio of the total.

Romstal Leasing has 4.2 percent of the market share and is targeting 4.6 percent in 2008. The Romanian leasing market is estimated to be worth €4.3 billion.
